Job Description

About the role

The Maintenance Scheduling Lead is responsible for efficient and effective maintenance scheduling activities and the effective integration with stores and contractor management.

The role is a key part of a centralised maintenance function within East Gippsland Water.   The role is accountable for delivery of the annual maintenance plan through scheduling, contractor and internal coordination, day to day procurement compliance and process oversight, resource and material planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimise CMMS data integrity and analytics
  • Deliver integrated maintenance schedules
  • Monitor, analyse and report scheduling KPIs
  • Drive continuous scheduling improvements
  • Integrate scheduling and stores operations
  • Ensure timely access to critical spares
  • Lead maintenance spend analysis initiatives
  • Partner with procurement to drive value
  • Manage day‑to‑day contractor scheduling
  • Support maintenance budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements
  • Build capability, culture and EGW values

* This role has been classified as per our Enterprise Agreement as a Band 2-3 position, ($64,906.86 - $81,086.73 per annum)

* Plus 12% employer superannuation contribution. We reserve the right to remunerate successful candidates within the span of this classification dependant on demonstrated skills, experience and qualifications.

Desired Skills and Experience

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  1. Maintenance scheduling
  • Proven experience in leading and optimising maintenance scheduling within an asset-intensive organisation.
  1. Technical Expertise and Systems Management:
  • Practical knowledge of modern maintenance methodologies (e.g., RCM, CMMS optimisation) and their practical application. Demonstrated experience in using a CMMS as a primary tool for data-driven decision-making, scheduling, and performance reporting.
  1. Team Leadership and Capability Development:
  • A strong track record of building, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team. Proven ability to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Capital Projects, Engineering) to ensure alignment and achieve shared organisational goals.
  1. Financial and Compliance Acumen:

Demonstrated experience in the development, management, and control of operational budgets. A proven understanding of and commitment to ensuring strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards.
